Biography
Alaba Angole is a Middlesex University Law and International Relations graduate. During her studies she served as Student Council President and Student Learning Assistant. In addition, she was the class of 2019's valedictorian and was awarded Most Outstanding Student of her programme. Alaba has an interest in using the lens of identity, power and space to understand how ideologies that perpetuate social ills such as colourism, gender inequity, gender-based violence, and sexual violence are produced and reproduced in the everyday. At Oxford, she hopes to further develop her theoretical knowledge and research skills in order to create deconstructing mechanisms that intervene the creation of harmful social ideologies. Alaba is passionate about representation, challenging narratives, and positive change."
